The Ultimate Protein Bar

You can buy protein bars at pretty every food store you go to. However, these protein bars often contain large amounts of sugar and preservatives, which aren’t good for you. The good news is that you can make your own, much healthier, protein bars at home. They are also very tasty. Here is the recipe:

  • 1 cake of tempeh
  • water
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of turmeric
  • cooking oil

Cut the tempeh cake like you would a cucumber if you wanted to make it into circles. Put it in a bowl with enough water to cover it. Add the turmeric and salt and then let it marinate for 20 minutes. Then deep fry the tempeh bars at medium heat until they are golden brown. Let them drain and cool for five minutes before you eat them. I would like to say that even though these are deep fried, they are still healthy. An alternate method of cooking them is to bake them in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until they look dry and done. That’s all for me folks. See you in another post.
